About Me

Hello, I'm Fraser! I am a Men's Artistic Gymnast competing for Scotland in the National Performance Programme, training out of Woking Gymnastics Club in Surrey, England.

I train 28 hours a week over 6 days and have just finished studying for my A Levels at Sixth Form at Strode's College in Egham, England.

I have ambitions in my gymnastics to compete in the 2022 Commonwealth Games and goals in my studies to attend University studying Business.

My History in Gymnastics

When I was young I was always involved in many different sports. I grew up playing rugby on the weekends with my father, brother and sister. I also participated in Football (Soccer), Swimming, Athletics and other extra curricular clubs such as Drama school, and Cubs (Boy scouts). However, my main issue was that none of the activities I took part in really fulfilled my desire to push myself. I was always very determined and focused on being the best I could be from the moment I could walk and wouldn't let anything stand in my way!

At age 8 my parents took me to a Saturday morning Gymnastics class at my local leisure centre as my mum felt that I was getting too cold at Rugby on Sunday morning matches! I immediately took a natural feel to the sport and quickly progressed beyond the coaching ability of the leisure centre coaches. I moved to Heathrow Gymnastics Club where I really began to improve and shot up the squads to the highest elite squad, preparing me to compete at national competitions after only 1 year of being in the sport.

At age 10 my family and I made the decision to move to Woking Gymnastics Club where I was coached by Simon Elliott and Craig Woodhams for the next 8 years, helping me and guiding me to develop into the Gymnast that I am today and also allowed me to meet some of my best friends, of which I still train with to this day.

In 2018, I was selected to be in the Scottish National Performance Pathway squad and later went on to attend my first international representing Scotland in Austria in November 2018.

Goals and Ambitions

One of my biggest goals is to try and qualify for the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and hopefully later again in 2026. I have always had ambitions of competing on big international stages in front of crowds.
